Mrs. Susie Coovert, 88, Whiteland, died 9:30 a.m. Thursday at her residence. She had been seriously ill the past six weeks.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Rev. Herbert Mather will officiate. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
Born January 5, 1883, in Johnson county to Joseph and Molley Ferrell, she was educated in schools in Kentucky but moved back to Johnson county, where she spent most of her life.
She married Andrew E. Coovert Nover 26, 1903 in Whiteland, He preceded her in death January 24, 1953.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ramey, Edinburgh, and Mrs. Jewell Lewis, Whiteland, 29 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers also survive. They are George Ferrell, Franklin, Steve Ferrell, Austin, Ind., and Charles Ferrell of Edinburg.
Mrs. Coovert has been self employed as a paper hanger, worked at Morgan's Canning factory in Franklin, was a housewife and had been a cook at the former Palmer restaurant in Whiteland.
She was the oldest member of Whiteland Methodist church.
