Mary's first husband Sherman Williams left her to raise 3 children alone in Johnson Co., KY. She moved to Elliott Co., KY, and was a teacher at the old Vencill school. Sometime after Milford Duvall's wife died, he and Mary married and she raised his children Clyde and Carrie. In later years, she lived with daughter Eula. Mary had a very good mind, and her great-grandson Danny enjoyed talking with her while she smoked her pipe. Mary's nephew Paul Fannin was Governor of Arizona and later U. S. Senator. Mary and Eula once went to Arizona by train to visit him.
