Mary 'Marge' Wrightsman, age 84, former resident of Park Village, Shelby died Sunday, March 5, 2006 in Crestwood Care Center.
Born October 20, 1921 in Shelby to Sam and Frances (Burns) Thompson she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. A 1939 graduate of Shelby High School she had been employed with the former Shelby Salesbook, Wilkins Airforce Depot and retired from the Shelby Mutual Insurance Company.
Mrs. Wrightsman was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Eastern Star Rizpah Chapter #153 and for several years was a volunteer with Hospice of North Central Ohio.
During her lifetime, Marge enjoyed needlework, especially quilting, knitting, crochet, and embroidery.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, William and Marjorie Thompson of Shelby; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Marion and Alice Louise Wrightsman of Scottsdale, AZ, and Gladys Stricker of Mesa, AZ; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vern A. Wrightsman in 2004, two sisters, Thelma Hall and Bette Guenther and three brothers, Robert, James, and John 'Jack' Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday from the Barkdull Funeral Home. Reverend Steven C. Bond will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church and the Hospice of North Central Ohio.
