She was born March 27, 1924, at Yeaman, Kentucky, in Grayson County to Walter Blackburn Landrum and Bessie Coleen Green Landrum, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the widow of Donald R. McMullin. She received her Bachelor degree and her Masters degree from the University of Kentucky.
Mrs. McMullin was a retired school teacher and taught in the Jefferson County school system for 24 years. She was a 22 year member of the Meadow Heights Woman’s Club, and had been a member of the Eastland Church of Christ in Louisville for 24 years, before relocating to Richmond, Kentucky, where she became a member of the University Church of Christ in 2005.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy McMullin Marting, and husband Richard, of Savanah, Georgia; two sons, Dwight McMullin, and wife Barbara, of Richmond and Dwain McMullin, and wife Elaine, of Eubank, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Benjamin Marting, Julie Painter, Scotty Moore, Angela Springs and Christopher McMullin.
Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Landrum and Barbara Rice and one brother, Eugene “Gene” Landrum. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ella Ossim, Della Nelms, Louise Jernigan, and Laura Long and two brothers, Hilbert Landrum and Philip Landrum.
Funeral services for Mrs. McMullin will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, Richmond, with burial following at the Mackville Cemetery, in Mackville, Kentucky for the immediate family.
