Philip Landrum, 86, of Franklin died May 9, 2008, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Grayson County native was a farmer since childhood and owned and operated farms in Simpson and Logan counties. For 25 years, he was a sales representative for several farm equipment companies throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. He was also a World War II veteran and a member of VFW and Locust Grove Church of Christ, where he was an elder from 1988-2005. From 1981 to 1996, he served on the board of directors at the Auburn Banking Co. He was also a charter member on the board for the Taylor Christian Youth Camp in Allen County. He was a son of the late Walter Landrum and Bessie Green Landrum.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sadie Reed Landrum; six daughters, Alice Summerfield and her husband, Brody, of Columbia, Mo., Brenda Reid and her husband, Andy, of Perry, Fla., Carolyn McDowell and her husband, Mike, of Denver, Marilyn Landrum of Columbia, Mo., Patti Moore and her husband, Ron, of Birmingham, Ala., and Jill Carr and her husband, Scott, of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Gene Landrum of Vandilla, Ill.; four sisters, Florence McMullin and Betty Landrum, both of Richmond, Louise Jernigan of Franklin and Barbara Price of Houston; four grandsons, Travis, Galen, Christopher and Kevin; two granddaughters, Megan and Stephanie; three stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.

Burial was in Restlawn Cemetery, where military rites was conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard.
