AUGUST WILSON, GRANDFATHER OF 57, DIES AT HOME

August Wilson, 3226 Sunflower avenue, Davenport, grandfather of 57 and a great grandfather of 30, died at his home following an illness of three years duration. He had been seriously ill for the last six months.
The decedent was born Jan 8, 1851, in Davis county, Indiana, and was married to Rachel Howard, Nov. 7, 1872, in Charleston, Ill. The couple engaged in farming in the vicinity of Charleston for several years and then moved to Kansas City, Mo. For the last seven years they had been making their home in Davenport. He was a Methodist.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Ellen Dill and Mrs. George Martell, both of Rock Island, Mrs. George McClain of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. William Lampson, Mrs. George Martell Jr., and Mrs. Glen Edler, all of Davenport; five sons, George, Charles, Oscar and John Wilson, all of Kansas City, and Jim of St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Runge chapel. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
