YORK Frank Avola, 79, formerly of Hanover, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the York Hospital. Born October 23, 1923 in York, Frank was the son of the late Samuel and Lillian (Spataro) Avola. Frank was a member of Hanover Brethren in Christ Church. He was employed with ESAB, Inc., Hanover for 32 years retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and was a past member of VFW Post 5265, Spring Grove. Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Antonino Avola. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. Friends will be received 10:30 to 11 a.m., prior to the service the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
