Alfred died while serving his country in Vietnam. He was in C Co, 1st BN, 8th Cav, 1st Cav Div, US Army. The Coffelt report indicated his wife Elvira and son Stanley were notified as well as his parents Thelma and Rufus McPherson.
As of Oct, 2015 the Coffelt Report indicates that Alfred's wife Elvira, requested his burial and stone placed in Elmwood Cemetery in Charleston SC. It is also indicated that Fielding Funeral Home, assisted with the burial. A volunteer reports that he walked the entire cemetery with no success on locating his stone. Due to the condition of the cemetery, I have determined that unless someone can show the exact site where Alfred is buried that it can not be located.
