Geneva Taylor, 91, of Gatesville passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Pastor Gary L. Paxton officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at the funeral home.
Geneva was born on May 9, 1923 in Burkburnett, Texas to the late James "Jim" Wesley and Ada Voss Brewer. She attended school and graduated from Oglesby High School. She married Luther Taylor on May 23, 1944. She loved family gatherings, cooking, gardening, and fishing. She was a member of Mountain Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Taylor, in 2003; son-in-law, Pete Egger; and granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Taylor.
Geneva is survived by her sons, Michael Taylor and wife, Virginia of Coryell City and Charles Taylor of Gatesville; daughter, Sharon Paxton and husband, Gary of Gatesville; sisters, Betty Neely of Littlefield, Texas, Ouida Paddock of Denison, Viola Abel of Boone, Iowa, Jean Goodwin of Oglesby, and Carolyn Figgette of Temple; brothers, Alford Brewer of Caldwell and Darvil Brewer of Gatesville; and seven grandchildren, Courtney Long, Clinton Egger and wife, Brandy, Rowdy Taylor and wife, Amanda, Ryan Tayor and wife, Jennifer, Shane Taylor, Ashley Taylor and wife, Jessica, and April Crell and husband, Josh; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and caregiver, Sharon Greer.
