Thomas Gerard Hefti, age 64, of Stover, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at his lake home in Gravois Mills.
He was born August 11, 1950, in St. Louis, a son of Frederick Joseph and Anna Mae (Wegescheide) Hefti. In May of 2005, Tom was united in marriage to Vicki McDaniel, who survives at their home.
He was a Marine Corps veteran, serving his Country in the Vietnam War and in Thailand.
He retired as an agent for Homeland Security, following many years of employment.
Tom was a member of the Stover United Methodist Church and Galloway-Martens American Legion Post 343 in Stover.
He was very proud of his service to his Country.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Ryen Reynolds and wife Emily of Versailles; James Colbert and wife Gaby of St. Joseph; Julie Hagen of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Ian Patrick McDaniel of Reston, Virginia; eight siblings, Ruth Ann (and Don) Kienstra, Ferguson, Missouri; Ray (and Nancy) Hefti, St. Charles, Missouri; Gerry (and Joe) Kloeppel, St. Charles, Missouri; Marilyn Leach St. Charles, Missouri; Janet Mueller Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; Dan (and Deb) Hefti, St. Charles, Missouri; Charlie (and Terri) Hefti, St. Charles, Missouri and Joe (Jim McGraw) Hefti, Huntsville Alabama; sister-in-law, Judy Hefti Troy, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Paul Hefti and a brother-in-law, Bob Mueller.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated.
A Celebration of Tom’s life will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 20, at the Stover United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Cutler officiating. Military honors will immediately follow the service at the church.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m until service time at the church on Saturday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Galloway-Martens American Legion Post 343 or the Stover United Methodist Church.
