Ada Roddey Crawford Mrs. Crawford, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 2670 Dr. Carver Road, Charlotte. Rev. J. Glenn Gerald will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Crawford was born February 28, 1917, in Catawba, S.C.. to the late Cad and Massey Roddey. She attended public schools and was an early member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Catawba, S.C. She married the late George Crawford and moved to Charlotte. Mrs. Crawford joined Gethsemane Baptist Church and remained an active member until her health declined. She retired from Radiator Speciality. Mrs. Crawford was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Deborah Chapter 424. Mrs. Ada Roddey Crawford is survived by two sisters-in-law; Cordia M. Crawford of Cleveland, Ohio and Cynthia Crawford of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. Grier Funeral Home is serving the family.
