Mr. Bagby died on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Diboll.
Alan, also known as "Chappy," was born in El Paso County on Jan. 19, 1946, to William Cobb and Hope Alice Stewart Bagby.
Friends and family say he was the sweetest person you would ever meet. He loved to watch TV, read, play Bingo, collecting all sorts of cans and, most of all, studying the Bible.
Alan is survived by his sisters-in-law, Rebecca Robertson and husband Rian of Corrigan and Pamela Worley and husband Darryl of Bristol, Va.; brothers-in-law, James Sanders and wife Jeneatte of Carthage and Richard Sanders of Huntsville; niece, Danielle Norman and husband Roman of Corrigan; nephew, Joshua Johnson of Corrigan; great-niece and nephew, Savannah and Ronald Ener of Corrigan; great-aunts, Faye Brown of Huntsville and June Raley of Huntsville and great-cousins, Perry Brown and Jerry Brown, both of Huntsville.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Patsy" Sanders Bagby; his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, David and Pauline Sanders and nephews, Michael and Jimmy Sanders.
