He was either reinterred in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at a later date or his remains were lost as a result of one of the hurricane-related floods that inundated Saint Joseph's Cemetery in 1888 and 1889. Elderly parishioners of Saint Joseph's Church told of bodies being washed out of the Cemetery during severe flooding.
