Carl Edward Allman, 93, of Parkersburg, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at the Willows Nursing Home.

He was born in Rockport, W.Va., Jan. 29, 1921, a son of the late Fredrick Basil and Chloe Belle Kerr Allman.

Carl had been employed by the Parkersburg Rigg and Reel and then Walker-Parkersburg for 25 years as a press operator. He was a WWII Army Veteran having been awarded the purple heart.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Gary and Wanda Allman of Parkersburg; daughter, Janet Wilson of Vienna; brother, Fred of Mineral Wells; sisters, Mary Casto of Mineral Wells, Velma Behall of Parkersburg, and Freda Taylor of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Susan and her husband, Benjamin Goings, of Douglasville, Ga., Ronald W. Wilson II of San Diego, Calif., and Nicole and her husband, Shalin Shah, of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Wilson of Vienna, Bryar Harris of Kansas, and Ron Wilson III of Oklahoma, Nayak Shah of Houston, Texas, and Lela Shah of Houston, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Allman; brothers, Benny, Clarden, Harold, Richard, and Virgil; sisters, Sisley Horner, Lorena Patterson, and Thelma Mitchell; and a grandson, Bobby Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, with military rites by the American Legion. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, and one hour prior to the service on Friday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home.
