Mrs. Mary Hardy died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the home of her son, Dennis Hardy, 813 East Prairie street, aged 80 years. She was the widow of John Hardy who died in 1879, and leaves one son, Dennis, who is a section foreman on the Illinois Central railroad She was born in County Clare, Ireland, came to American in 1847 and has lived in Decatur over 40 years. The funeral took place from St. Patrick's Catholic church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
