Gene attended Iowa State where he met Jan, the love of his life, and married her on graduation day May 26, 1962. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at Iowa University in 1965. His career was launched from John Deere World Headquarters in Moline, Illinois, following in his father’s footsteps at John Deere. His long list of accomplished positions included negotiator, arbitrator, life coach, mentor, author, ordained minister, philanthropist and the greatest being Loving Husband, Father, and Grandpa.
T. Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Janice L. (Johannsen) Brunk of Heath, Texas; daughter: L. Janene Brunk and her husband Kent Zittlau of San Clemente, California; son: Darcy E. Brunk and his wife Tracy of Heath, Texas; daughter-in-law Angela and six grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his son, T. Dirksen Brunk in 2012 and his parents.
Funeral services were held at his home church, Lakeshore of Rockwall. Interment followed in Rest Haven Memorial Park. His most recent passion as a member of the Board of Directors for Christ for India was raising money for Campus Restoration of the Hospital, Orphanage, School and much more following the devastation of Cyclone Hud Hud.
He will be greatly missed by all.
