For 33 years, Charles has been an employee of the Wabash serving in the shops and among the local employees of that company was well known and well liked. He was born August 15, 1857 in Coshocton county, Ohio, coming to Illinois when he was a child; the greater part of his life has been in central Illinois, much of that time in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife and the following named children: Harold and Clark Whitaker, Mrs. George Eaton and Mrs. Lillian Perkiser, all of Decatur; also his sister, Mrs. Ellen Evans of Hiawatha, Kansas. He was a member of the First Christian church.
The body was taken to the undertaking rooms of Brintlinger and Sons. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery.
