The Shelbyville News, Friday January 2, 2015. Cyril B. Headlee, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014.

He was born in Adams(Decatur County)June 13, 1926, to Orval David and Dora(Pate)Headlee. His mother passed away one hour after his birth. He was then entrusted to his new parents(aunt and uncle)Roscoe and Ella(Gahimer)Headlee of Blue Ridge.

All parents preceded him in death. Mr. Headlee had four brothers and four sisters. He was the last living sibling.

Mr. Headlee graduated from Waldron High School in 1944.

He worked at the Mirror Works factory in Shelbyville, and then at Brazeway(formerly Bendit), from where he retired.

Mr. Headlee married Maerose(Farthing)Headlee on Aug. 9, 1948, and she survives.

Other survivors include three daughters; Dora Hudgins and husband, Ed, of Round Rock, Texas; Catherine Headlee of Shelbyville; Linda Martin and Husband, Greg, of Shelbyville; foster son, Adrian Gearheart of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; Rodney Williams, Walter Munsel, Sandy Hughes, Scarlett Herzog, Will Munsel, Jette McCormick & Rosa Martin; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-laws who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ella Marie Williams Canfield; and two grandchildren, Heather Dawn Munsel and Edgar Hudgins Jr.

For over 60 years, Mr. Headlee was a member of First Pilgrim Holiness Church, which later became Grace Wesleyan Church. He served on the church board several times during his years of service at Grace Wesleyan Church. In earlier years, he and his mother were charter members of West Side Wesleyan Church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Visitation also will be for one hour prior to the funeral Saturday at the church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Grace Wesleyan Church, 56 E. Franklin St., with the Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.

Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Headlee.
