He was the husband of Mrs. Hilda Levesque. Born in Caribou, Maine, a son of the late Frank F. and Mae (Crawford) Levesque, he had lived in Seekonk for 50 years. In 2002, he received his high-school diploma from the State of Maine, completing an education that was interrupted when he was drafted into the Army during World War II.
Mr. Levesque had been a textile worker for the Slater Dye Works of Pawtucket for 10 years before retiring 14 years ago. He previously had been a machine operator for Real Reel Co., in Pawtucket.
An Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 361st Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division, and was wounded in Italy during World War II. He also served in the Korean War. He received several medals, including a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
A former lieutenant in the Junior Naval Cadets, he had served aboard the USS Missouri.
Mr. Levesque was a member of the American Legion, Post 311, in Seekonk, where he had served as adjutant for 14 years and also had held other offices; a past adjutant of American Legion District 9, Bristol County, Mass.; and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Primmer-Cordeiro Post 5385, in East Providence.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons - one in Seekonk & one in Attleboro; three sisters - 2 in Caribou and one in East Hampton, Mass.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
