Ida was born in Williams, AZ to Juan and Francisca Lopez. She had four siblings; three sisters and one brother.

On July 4, 1943, she married Roque G. Duran and moved to Fresno, CA.

In 1945, she gave birth to her only child, Ernest Joseph Duran.

Ida graduated from Fresno Aircraft School and was employed by Venderlator Aircraft Company in Aircraft Production in 1944. She held subsequent jobs with Sunmaid Raisin, California Packing Corporation and Schindley Incorporation, Roma Winery.

Ida spent the majority of her working years in religious goods retail. She was employed by the Bair Company from 1962 to 1982 and then San Joaquin Religious Goods in 1982 and ended employment after 15 years.

Ida lived her life as a spiritual role model of the Catholic Faith. She was a member of several religious organizations, Our Lady of Guadalupe Society, Catholic Daughters of America and The Legion of Mary and was a parish member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Ida lived her life devoted to her faith and her unconditional love for her family and friends.

She peacefully passed away and is truly in her glory with her Savior.

Ida is preceded in death by Roque Duran, her husband of 37 years; two sisters, Tomasa Lopez and Quirina Chavira; and one brother, Eusebio Lopez.

Ida is survived by one sister, Inez Zuniga of Fresno, CA; and her son and daughter, Ernest Sr. and Melva Duran of San Diego, CA.

She is fondly known as Nana by her grandchildren, Ernie Jr. and Rebecca Duran of Brentwood, CA, Kevin and Lynette Clark of Fresno, CA and Russell and Patricia Duran of Fresno, CA; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor and Tanner Duran, Madison, Cassidy and Samantha Clark and Megan Duran; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4, 2006, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
