Arminta Jane Hall Dies On Monday
Arminta Jane Hall, one of Letcher County's oldest citizens, died on Monday, October 27, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Sergent, of this city. Mrs. Hall was 89 years old in May. She was the mother of a large number of children, nine of whom are still living. These are Charlie and Walter Vermillion, Mrs. Nellie Sergent and Mrs. Hiram Caudill, of Letcher County; Mrs. N. H. Salyers of Bristol, Va.; Willy Craft, Bert and Benton Adams, of Wise County, Va.; and Lee Adams, of West Virginia. She was the sister of Owen Richmond, just below Whitesburg. Other brothers, whose names we did not learn, also survive her.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. O. Griffith, and burial at the Thornton cemetery under the direction of the Craft Funeral Home.
