Walter C. Anderson was born on January 24, 1909 in Douglas County to Gustaf and Ida (Olson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Calvary Covenant Church in Evansville. He grew up in the area and attended Evansville School and the University of Minnesota Farm School. His early years were spent in farming and as a mechanic in Elbow Lake and Evansville. He later worked for the Crestview Manor Health Care Center in Evansville. Walter was a member of the Calvary Covenant Church and served the church in many capacities. He was also the sexton of Mound Grove Cemetery for many years. Walter will be remembered by his family as a Godly man, regarded highly in his community, admired as strong in stature and character, and example to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Walter passed away at his home in Evansville, MN, December 13, 1995 at the age of 86. Walter is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Anderson from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and Marclyn (Cal) Lindquist from Seabrook, Texas; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 16, 1995 at the Calvary Covenant Church of Evansville, MN with Rev. John Delancey officiating. Casketbearers were Dan Davids, Robert Anderson, Mark Olson, Wayne Ricke, Paul Person and Steve Henning. Interment was at Mound Grove Cemetery, Evansville, MN. Arrangements made by Glende-Johnson-Nelson & Nilson Funeral Home of Evansville, MN.
