William "Billy" Anderson, 75, of Waterloo, departed this earthly life for his eternal resting place in Pine Valley, WI, on Wednesday January 21, 2015 of a heart attack.

He was born on March 19, 1939 in Waterloo, son of William and Gladys Owens Anderson.

Billy graduated from Graduated Waterloo East High in 1956. He served in the United States Army from January 2, 1962 until he was honorably discharged December 4, 1963.

From a young age Billy had a love for music and became known for his ability to play the organ and sing. His career as a musician included working at numerous places in Waterloo, Iowa and Wisconsin Dells including Porky's Supper Club, John Deere's Supervisor's Club, CU, Wally's (House of Embers), Trappers Turn, Glacier Rock, Ishnala and Spring Brooke. Two of Billy's favorite songs were "Witchcraft" by Frank Sinatra and "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

Billy also had a love for bicycling and participated in portions of numerous Rides across Iowa (RAGBAI) with his friend Frank Smith.

Billy will forever be remembered for his vibrant smile, short-sleeved Hawaiian shirts, his love for people and music.

He is survived by two sons: Johnny Anderson of Kansas City, Kansas and William Anderson III of North Dakota. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, special friend Sarah Poertner of Wisconsin, a brother Alfred Anderson, of Waterloo, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Billy was preceded in death by: his parents, sister Carolyn Darden, and son Maurice Taylor.
