Actor, writer and producer. Born Rafael Valentín Trujillo Gazcón in Atotonilco, Jalisco, México.

As the grandson of movie producer Valentín Gazcón, he was exposed to the world of acting and at the age of seven made his debut in the film, "El Gran Pillo" (1958).

Although Valentín studied Law at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), he never completed his education and chose acting as his career. A career that spanned 48 years in which he appeared in over 130 films, directed over 20, and produced over 20. In 1965 he appeared in the movie "El Mal" with Glenn Ford and Stella Stevens, which was released as "Rage" (1966). Later in the 1970s he began playing action leads, and continued to be very popular in this vein into the 1990s. He was nominated for a Best Actor Ariel for "Perro Callejero" (1980) and for a Best Supporting Actor Ariel for "El Ansia de Matar" (1987).

Valentín died in his sleep as a result of a myocardial infarction in his home in Coyoacán, México at the age of 55. He was cremated; the location of the ashes is yet to be verified.

He is survived by his second wife Scarlett Alvarez and four children (one with Scarlett, and three from a previous marriage).
