Passed away at Mercy Hospital in Washington on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. He was born to the late Eugene F. and Mary C. Peters (nee Altemueller) on March 26, 1933 in Krakow, Missouri. He was united in marriage to the late Dolores “Blondie” Huxel on April 14, 1956 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Washington. Ken was a member of the Knights of Columbus Seisl Council 1121 and the Elks Lodge 1559, having served in several capacities, including Exalted Ruler. Whether it was cooking, trout fishing or drinking a beer with his friends, he was the type of guy who never knew a stranger. He was a very proud grandfather and loved spending time with all of his family.
Mr. Peters is survived by his daughter, Linda Von Gruben and husband Kenn of Glencoe, Missouri; two siblings, Gilbert Peters and wife Mary of Wichita Falls, Texas and Rosemary Biermann of Washington; five grandchildren, Leslie Daugherty and husband Bill, Andy Aholt and wife Katie, Leah Van Leer and husband Brian, Ed Von Gruben and wife Niki and Emily Polaske and husband Marc; two great grandchildren, Justin Rost and Mia Van Leer; other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Vic, Clarence, Anthony, Bobby, and Frannie; and one sister, Arlene Bradshaw.
