Hello~
Ellis Davidson is one of 9 children born to James Orville Davidson and Mary Elizabeth Linville Davidson, at their donation land claim in Buena Vista, Polk Co., Oregon. He lived with his parents until he married Mary Agnes Burch @1886 [per 1900 Census]. By 1900, they were lvg. in Buena Vista, Polk Co., OR on a rented farm and had 2 sons, Glenn & Ivor, who both attended school. In 1910, they had mvd. to 1233 E. Main St., in Portland, Multnomah Co., OR where Ellis was a house carpenter. They owned their house and had a 3rd son, Orville, b.@1906. Glenn was a bookkeeper at a bank and Ivor worked in the hosiery dept. of a wholesale house. By 1920, they had relocated to Powell St., Gresham, Multnomah Co., OR in a home they owned. Ellis said he was a WW Veteran and was a Driver for 'transfer bus'. Glenn, now 29, was also a WW Veteran, worked as a salesman at a Drug Store; also, he was married to Lucy, b.1898 in NE. Ivor no longer lived at home (had married Laura @1914) and youngest brother, Orville, was 14. In 1930, Ellis & Mary were in their final home, valued $4,000 w/a radio set. Name of street was Powell St. East, also called Powell Valley Rd., Gresham, Oregon. Ellis spent his last years employed as a janitor for the library. In 1940, their house # was 1311 E. Powell Blvd., Gresham, OR., was valued at $3,000 w/just Ellis and Mary lvg. in it. He was also still a janitor at the library. I followed Glenn and Ivor and was going to send you their hxs, as they all remained in Multnomah County.
