The daugher of Alois Hoffman (1798–1882) and Francisca Yacher (1809–1889).


Her first marriage was to Valentine Walter (d. 1883), with whom she had five children: Valentine (1870–1941), Mary (b. abt. 1873), Elizabeth (1877–1947), Caroline (1880–1968), and Frances (1881–1949).


After the death of her first husband, she married John Baptist Schrenk (1852–1903), a native of Obereschach in Baden, on March 9, 1886 at St. Mary's Church in Sharpsburg. His first wife Margaret Bigler had died in 1885.


With John she had four children: George August (1888–1981), Christine (1890–1965), Leo Robert (1892–1920), and Victor Theodore (1894–1938).


She died on November 23, 1924. Two death notices:


SCHRENK—On Sunday, Nov. 23, 1924, at 9:15 p.m., Christine Schrenk (née Hoffman), wife of John Schrenk, in her 73rd year. Funeral from her residence, 20 Highland ave., Etna, Pa. Notice of time later.

Funeral from her late residence, 20 Highland ave., Etna, on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 8:30 a.m. High mass of requiem at All Saints' church at 9 o'clock. Members of Sharpsburg Branch No. [-03] L. C. B. A. and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend.
