Died peacefully on January 26, 2015 in Johnstown, PA. She was born April 9, 1920 in Rosebush, Michigan the fourth of eight children born to Robert and Roselean Hovey.

Preceded in death by parents, infant sons Frederick and Phillip, husband Donald, brothers Harold, Fitzpatrick, and William, and sisters Maryanna Prokopp, Noreen Wright, and Coreen Minott. Survived by children, Anne Drolett Creany (Timothy), Douglas Drolett (Polly); grandchildren Timothy Creany Jr., Brian Creany (Lauren), Alissa Creany Nacey (Tom), Christian Drolett, Scott Drolett, and Lauren Drolett; great grandchildren, Hannah Creany, Joshua Creany, Evan Creany, Lydia Creany, and Beckett Nacey; brother Robert Hovey (Jean); also many nieces and nephews.

Kay was a graduate of St. Lawrence nursing school where she met dashing intern Don Drolett. They married shortly before he left to serve in Europe during World War II. When he returned, they settled in Michigan where they enjoyed 51 years of married life. Although she moved to Pennsylvania in 2014 to be near family, Michigan was always her home. Kay was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in East Lansing, volunteered in the St. Lawrence auxiliary, delivered meals on wheels, was a long-time member and avid reader in the Whitehills Book Club, a talented crossword puzzle solver, a 50-year member of her bridge club, and a devoted fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Visitation will be at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, East Lansing on Sunday February 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 2 at 10:30 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, East Lansing. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour prior to the mass. The Rite of Committal will be at St. Henry's Cemetery in Rosebush, Michigan.
