Ada McDowell, 90, of Rockford, IL passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015, in Connie’s Manor in Tucson, AZ. Born November 13, 1924, in Benton, KY, the daughter of Loyd and Opal (Mathis) Crouch. Graduated from Benton High School in 1942. She married Joseph D. McDowell on March 5, 1950, in Benton, KY. He predeceased her on October 21, 1981. She worked as an Inspector for 12 years at Woodward Governor, retiring in 1978. Member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Evansville, IL; Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #295, Belvidere, IL; and Jenny Lind volunteer at Swedish American Hospital for 16 years.
Survived by her son, Douglas Allen (Betty) McDowell of Peoria, IL; grandsons, Michael McDowell of Peoria, IL and Mark (Colleen) McDowell of White Lake, MI; great-grandsons, Joshua, Keaton, and Kaidan McDowell;; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, spouse, sister, Ruth Trimble; and brother, Rev. Lynn Crouch.
