Died Monday, Feb. 12, 1990, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 79, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Ethyl Corp. employee and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Smith. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Mary Elizabeth Anderson Barbay; a daughter and son-in-law, Jon Barbay Blumberg and Barry O. Blumberg, Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Charles L. Hebert Sr. and Mrs. Jake J. Gerace, both of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Marcel Rayne, Houma; two brothers, Howard Barbay, Neptune, N.J., and John S. Barbay Jr., Plaquemine; and two grandchildren, Leila Burkett Blumberg and Robert Anderson Blumberg. Preceded in death by parents, John S. Sr. and Viola Marionneaux Barbay; and a brother, Richard Barbay. Pallbearers will be Ronald Fenasci, Jake Gerace, Charles L. Hebert Jr., Al Arceneaux, Robert Blumberg and Hugh O'Connor. Honorary pallbearers are H.H. Manner Jr., P.S. Richard Jr., William R. McGehee, R.B. Anderson, Dr. Ray Manson, John L. Iles, Andrew Sholar and Rene E. Caire. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bocage Raquet Club and Shenandoah Country Club.
