She enjoyed the English language, and did crossword puzzles and word games. She loved her family, and did a lot of sewing, sometimes going without so her children would be taken care of. She loved to take care of her grandchildren, and would often babysit children in the Village of La Valle.
She enjoyed gardening and would hoe until the garden was weedless. Edna also loved to bake, making the best cookies and noodles. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in La Valle, serving as the church organist for 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Volney "Toad" in 1979; her parents; her sisters, Leona, Alta and Louise; an infant brother, Earl; and sister-in-law, Leone Duddleston. She is survived by her children, Shari, Edward, Wayne, and Dianne; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Edna Duddleston will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8. 2007 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Valle with Pastor Ed Iverson officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Lawn Cemetery in La Valle.
