Betsy Harvey, 58, of Connellsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, while in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born April 18, 1956, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Ira and Elizabeth (Shallenberger) Whipkey. Betsy was a member of Vanderbilt United Methodist Church. She was also a member of The Slovak Club and was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Betsy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bruce Harvey; two daughters, Buffy Johnston and husband, Donald, of Mill Run, and Becky Stout and husband, Jason, of Connellsville; five grandchildren, Garrett, Brody and Skylar Johnston, Noah Harvey and Mason Stout; three sisters, Faith Ann Martray and husband, Joseph, of Wellsburg, W. Va., Susan Cable, of Grindstone and Penny Dean and husband, William, of Flatwoods; two brothers, Jay Whipkey and wife, Judy, and William Whipkey and wife, Wendy, all of Vanderbilt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Sally (Swallop) Harvey, of Connellville; two brothers-in-law, Barry Harvey, of Bullskin Township and Craig Harvey, of Connellsville; many nieces and nephews; and Betsy's pet dog, "Bo". In addition to her parents, Betsy was predeceased by a nephew, Christopher Cable. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, the hour of service with Deacon Robert Dean officiating in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. 1st St., West Side, Connellsville. Interment will follow in Greenlick Cemetery.
