Alexander J. Sander, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 28 at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays. He was born Oct. 27, 1894 in Victoria, the son of John and Magdalene Windholz Sander.

He married Mathilda Leiker June 3, 1919 in Victoria. She died Sept. 29, 1930.

He was a retired farmer and WWI veteran. He was a member of the Victoria VFW.

Surviving: two daughters, Mrs. Rudy Josephe Miller and Mrs. Eugene Matilda Kippes, both of Hays; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Billinger, Victoria, and Mrs. Anna S. Leiker, Victoria; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four daughters and one son.

Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday St. Fidelis Church, Victoria; church cemetery, Victoria. Parish wake 8 a.m. Monday at Brock's North Hill Funeral Chapel. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 1-9 p.m. Monday at Brock's.
