Mrs. J.R. Rand, died of dropsy, on Wednesday morning, Jan 4, 1893. Mr. and Mrs. Rand were among the oldest residents of Crook County having settled on Inyan Kara Creek some ten years ago. The remains will be taken to her old home in Virginia for interment.

Mrs. J.R. Rand, of Inyan Kara Creek died at her home Jan 4, 1893, of dropsy. Deceased is a mother of a large family of boys and girls, most if not all of whom live in the immediate vicinity, and all of whom are grown. Calvin L. Rand is her oldest son. She leaves besides these to mourn her death an aged husband who has shared her sorrows and joys for nearly 50 years. The remains were taken to Virginia this week for interment.
