William Grimsley, 74, died yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. A. Faust, 15 miles from Columbia on the Koon road, whom he had been visiting for some time.

Mr. Grinsley was a native of Richland county and spent his entire long life in it, coming to Columbia about 20 years ago, where he was well known as a blacksmith, which trade he practiced until recently.

Mr. Grimsley had been in ill health for some time, but it was not thought that his condition was in any way serious, and the news of his death came as a surprise to his many friends and relatives.

He was a hard and earnest worker and was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist church.

Surviving are a sister and a brother and the following children: F. T. Grimsley, W. D. Grimsley, H. E. Grimsley, Mrs. J. A. Faust, Mrs. G. E. McAlpin and Mrs. Eva Wiles.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Tabernacle Baptist church, the Rev. A. B. Kennedy being in charge. Interment will take place in Elmwood cemetery.
