Catherine Reese was the daughter of Charles Reese and Nellie McCoy. She married Thomas Starr and they were the parents of eight (8) sons and two (2) daughters. They first lived in Flint Dist., Cherokee Nation West, and later near Briartown, close to the So. Canadian River.
Catherine and Tom Starr's son, Sam, married Myra Maybelle Shirley, and was thereafter known as the "Bandit Queen" Belle Starr.
Note: Many books have been written and many movies have been made over the years of Sam and Belle Starr. Sam was killed in a shoot-out with his 2nd cousin Frank West, a Cherokee policeman in 1886 in Oklahoma (Whitefield), Indian Territory and Belle was killed by an unknown assassin three years later, 1889.
