Funeral services for Emma P. Bottorff, 67, of Henryville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Henryville, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Henryville. She died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Medical Center of Southern Indiana, Charlestown.
She was born in Scottsburg on April 5, 1938, the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel LeCoumpte Moore. She was a retired Head Start teacher at Head Start in Jeffersonville for 25 years. She worked at the Underwood Indiana Head Start program. She was a member of Henryville First Baptist Church. She received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Indiana State University. She married James E. Bottorff on Jan 26, 1956, in Speed, Ind.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, James E. Bottorff; two sons, Rodney Bottorff, Henryville, and Allen Bottorff and wife, Rhonda, Henryville; three daughters, Barbara Jackson and husband, Ronald, Henryville, Candy Kannapel and husband Doug, Henryville, Robin Jones and husband Brad, Henryville; a nephew she thought of as a son, Keith Allen Bottorff and wife, Rita, Henryville; three brothers, Robert Moore, Jeffersonville, Leonard Moore, Hanover, and Marvin Moore, Henryville; three sisters, Nancy Wilkins, Jeffersonville, Beatrice Renyer, Henryville, and Barbara Farnsley, New Albany; 11 grandchildren, Ron Jackson, Misty Noel, Alli Jackson, Randall Bottorff, Dougie, Ashley, Brittney and Ryan Kannaple, Tanner and Drew Bottorff and Emma Jones, and Seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service in Henryville will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, Friday, June 24 and after 9 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Henryville First Baptist Church.
