At this time, there is no proof of Rosanna's parents. She and Zachariah Davis were married in Hardeman Co, TN on May 22, 1824. They arrived in DeWitt Colony, Texas on Feb 20, 1831. Their children: Elizabeth Ann, George W, Susan, Eliza Jane, May Ann or Polly, Vienna, Lavinia, Nancy J, Rosanna and Emmaline. Sometime after Zachariah's death, believed by many to have been in 1848, Rosanna married John A Rhoads on Sept 21, 1854 at Prospect McCoy's house. She then married Albert Matthews in 1855. In 1860, she is living with her daughter and son-in-law, Eliza and Joseph McCoy. Zachariah Davis' burial site is unknown.

According to descendants, the family destroyed the improvements on their ranch and farms, took their best bloodline horses and joined the Runaway Scrape and fled toward Houston, Texas to return later after Texas independence. Zachariah and Rosanna Davis had daughters Elizabeth Ann, Susan and Eliza Jane who married Prospect, Green and Joseph L. McCoy, respectively, all sons of Joseph Hill and Catherine Clark McCoy.
