Priscilla "Mickie" Matthews, 82, passed away on February 16, 2015 at Valley Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born on May 17, 1932 in Claremont, NH, having grown up on Spring Street.
Priscilla was one of seven children, the daughter of Edward and Mary (McElreavy) Currier [Carrier].
She was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary High School.
Priscilla was married to George Matthews for 30 years and he died in 1981.
She had worked hard most of her life having worked at the shoe shop, Holsum Bakery, Dunkin Donuts and Sullivan County Home in dietary.
Priscilla enjoyed traveling to see NASCAR with her best friend of 20 years, Larry Scruton and he died in 2001.
She had resided at Sullivan County Health Care for almost 4 years, where she had loved and was loved by all the staff there.
Priscilla was a kind and generous person and will be missed, she loved fresh flowers, playing Scrabble and visiting with friends and family.
The family includes two daughters, Mary Blake of Grafton and Marjorie Nutting of Charlestown; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Davis of Charlestown; one brother, James Currier [Carier] of Sunapee; many nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at Blanchard Hall at Windy Acres Park in North Charlestown on Saturday, February 21st from 5-7 PM.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Sullivan County Health Care Activities Department, 5 Nursing Home Drive, Unity, NH 03743.
