Dorothy Seward-Smith, 76, of Keansburg, passed away on Saturday, February 14th, at home. She was born and raised in Long Island City, NY, prior to moving to the Bay Shore area 47 years ago. Dorothy worked at South Amboy Hospital in medical records for 27 years, she was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church, Keansburg; was a member of the Red Hat Society; lifetime member of the West Keansburg Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary; St. Clements Seniors and Hazlet Seniors. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her late husband William Seward Jr. in 1987, her husband Donald Smith in 2009 and her sister Marilyn Vrekin in 2010. Surviving are her four sons William Seward and his fiancé Vivian of Middletown, Robert Seward of Lakewood, Brian Seward of Keansburg and Barry Seward of Eatontown; her daughter Dorothy Seward of Cliffwood; two brothers Edward Sheehan Jr. and Kenneth Sheehan of New York; her sister Joyce Green of Delaware; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Family will be accepting friends on Wednesday, February 18th from 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Thursday there will be a 10:15am Mass at St. Ann’s Church, Keansburg. Interment to follow at Forest Green Cemetery, Marlboro. Letters of condolences can be sent to www.jacquelinemryanfh.com
