Evelyn I. Moose
Maiden - Evelyn Inez Moose, 80, of West Seventh Street, Newton, died October 5, 2002, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.
Born Dec. 27, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey R. and Sallie Hunsucker Moose, Sr.
A lifelong member of First Baptist Church, she retired from the Catawba County Department of Social Services after 32 years of service. A graduate of Newton-Conover High School, she led her senior class in on graduation night. A graduate of Mebane Business School, she was an honor student and member of "Little People of America."
She was preceded in death by a brother, aubrey R. Moose, Jr.
Survivors include two brothers, Demps Moose of conover and Brady Moose of Hickory; three sisters, Rosemary Jones of Catawba, Rebecca Hatchett of Newton and Dorcas Moose of California; six nephews, eight nieces, and a number of great-nephews and great-nieces.
A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Joyce Bunn and Derek Jones at 11 a.m. Monday at her church.
Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
