Lela had three main passions in life. First was her love of her Heavenly Father Jehovah God. She had been one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in LaFollette, TN for almost 42 years. Second was her love of her family. Her children and grandchildren were her world and what she lived for. She was also very close with her sisters and shared a deep bond and love with them her entire life. Third was her love of Pat Summitt and the TN Lady Volunteers Basketball team, whom she was a huge fan of for the last 15 plus years.
Lela resided her last three months in her son's (Mitchell) home in Greeneville, TN, where she was blessed with wonderful care from three of her granddaughters, Leah, Esther, and Rayanna. Rayanna, having just turned five, was Lela's sunshine every day and would always put a smile on Lela's face.
She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, sisters: Orene, Kathleen, Mary Inez, and Sarah Ethel (Becky); her brothers: John, David (Junior), Wayne, and Jerry.
She is survived by two sons: David Prewitt of Morristown, TN and Mitchell Prewitt of Greeneville, TN; two sisters: Mavis Miracle and Wilma Daniels; a special friend Kimberly Cupp of Caryville, TN, who Lela always loved like a daughter; six grandchildren: Misty, Leah, Sarah, Keith, Philip and Esther; and four great-grandchildren: Samuel, Isaac, Jacob, and Rayanna. She also had many loving nieces and nephews and a special friend Mildred Southerland.
