Mrs. Barbara Rampley Cargle, age 76, of Kingston, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, at her residence.

Mrs. Cargle was born in Lindale on December 26, 1938, to her Christian parents, Ben T. and Donnie Green Rampley. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Annease Cargle Coursey and Tammy Cargle Stansell, by a granddaughter, Stephanie Leigh Stansell, and by a sister, Bertha Rayburn.

Barbara was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 59 years, Rev. Tommy Cargle. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was an accomplished pianist and lover of music. Barbara served her Lord faithfully with her talents of playing the piano and her beautiful singing all of her life, having served as pianist for several Baptist churches in Floyd County and gospel singing groups throughout the years. She began serving her church as pianist at the age of 12. Barbara was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Tommy Cargle, Kingston; her son, the Rev. Tony Cargle, and his wife, Angel, Kingston; 3 grandchildren, Brady and Graham Cargle, both of Kingston, and Chasity Lowe, and her husband, Paul, Rome; 4 great- grandchildren, Chase Lowe, Allie Beth Lowe, Emily Lowe, and Jake Ashley; a sister, Polly Edwards, Lindale; a brother, Bennie Rampley, and his wife, Glenda, Silver Creek; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 2pm at New Antioch Baptist Church with her son, the Rev. Tony Cargle, her grandson, Brady Cargle, and her brother-in-law, the Rev. Morris Cargle officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 5 until 7pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to assemble at New Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday at 1:30pm and are as follows: Active: Chase Lowe, Brady Cargle, Graham Cargle, Bobby Coursey, Todd Cargle, and Chris Ashley. Honorary: Allie Lowe, Emily Lowe, Jake Ashley, Ron Morris, Jr., David Cargle, and Timothy Cargle.
