He was a veteran of the Navy and Air Force, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a Boy Scout leader, and a member of the Odessa Baptist Church in New York.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Gloria M.; four sons, Robert M., Alpine, N.Y., Ron E., Port Richey, Richard K., Atlanta, and Randall E., Queen Creek, Ariz.; two daughters, Cathy L. Poethke, Flower Mound, Texas, and Cindy M. Malley, New Port Richey; his mother, Eileen Stimmerman, New Port Richey; three brothers, Richard, Amarillo, Texas, Rodney, Elmira, N.Y., and Daniel, Sedalia, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Enderle, Tioga, Pa., and Marge Lapp, Okeechobee; 18 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
