Gloria M (Cook) Van Galder

Gloria M (Cook) Van Galder, formerly of Alpine, NY, passed away on Wednesday February 16, 2022 in New Port Richey, FL. She was born on April 8, 1937 in Sayre, PA to the late Martin and Eileen (Cortright) Cook.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years TSGT Robert R. Van Galder USAF (Ret.), son Robert M. Van Galder and grandson Michael J. Gee.

She is survived by her companion Lt Col John Buckman USMC (Ret.); her children Cathy L. (Horst) Poethke of Ponder, TX, Ronald E. (Jeanne) of Montour Falls, NY, Richard K. (Anne) of Peachtree Corners, GA, Randall E. (Lisa) of Phoenix, AZ, and Cindy M. Malley of New Port Richey, FL; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Gloria on Monday, July 18th at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home in Elmira, NY. Interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wreaths Across America (Wreathsacrossamerica.org).
