“Loving Mother & Grandmother”
Mrs. Lucia (Longo) Ciarlo, 98, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at Paradigm Healthcare of Waterbury on Monday, February 16, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmelo Ciarlo for 59 years.
Lucia was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on December 15, 1916 daughter of the late Pasquale and Angela Maria (Addona) Longo and was the last of their ten children. She was a seamstress for Waterbury Undergarment for 20 years until her retirement in 1978. Lucia and her late husband were survivors of the Andrea Doria sinking in 1956. She loved gardening, canning and cooking for her family.
She leaves her daughter, Maria Gugliotti of Waterbury, four grandchildren, Rocco (Melanie) Gugliotti of Oakville, CT, Linda (Michael) Ott of Bellaire, TX, Carmine (Grace) Gugliotti of Barre, MA, Lisa (Steven Ruotolo) Gugliotti of Guilford, CT, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Lucia’s family would like to thank the staff and social workers at Waterbury Hospital and Paradigm Healthcare of Waterbury and Dr. Frank Galasso for all the care given to Lucia. They would also like to thank everyone who touched Lucia's life.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial /The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to Blessed Sacrament Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
