Wayne Robert Sayre, 78 years old, of Green Castle, Missouri passed away February 17, 2015, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Wayne was born on February 23, 1936 in Green City, Missouri, to Hobart and Ethel (Ipock) Sayre. On May 23, 1964 he married Ada Mae (Howard) Sayre, she preceded him in death on September 3, 1982. Also preceding him in death: his parents, 4 daughters, Debbie Sue Sayre, Rosemary Lynn Sayre, Sharon Lee Sayre, and Angel Dawn Sayre; one brother, Allen Dean Sayre; and a sister, Sally Lou Reeves.
Wayne was survived by: 5 daughters, Ellen Kincannon and husband Pat of Green City, Pam Welch and fiancé John Low of Green Castle, Lisa Sayre of Green Castle, Bobbi Sayre of Salisbury, MO, and Kimerly Vasey and husband Mark of Green City; 1 son, John Sayre and wife Julila of Green Castle; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Doris Sayre of Milan; and one niece.Wayne lived most of his life in Sullivan County. He was a volunteer for the Green Castle Fire Department. He worked many jobs throughout his life including: working at gas stations in Iowa and Illinois, hauling milk and coal, working on farms, working in construction, he did some logging for Charlie McCabe, but he mostly was an equipment operator doing road maintenance and driving a bull dozer. Wayne loved tinkering with anything, especially small engines. He enjoyed to go camping, fishing, and spending time with his family Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 20, 2015, at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, east of Green City. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 AM.
