Marie Gertrude Deemer was born June 25, 1902, in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois, the daughter of William H. and Gertrude (Janseen) Deemer. She married Earl Clinton Rosenstiel on October 7, 1926, in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. Earl was born March 16, 1895, in Stephenson County, Illinois, the son of George W. and Freidrick Lottie Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Beimeier) Rosenstiel. They had the following known children:

1. Betty Jane Rosenstiel (1927-1977)

Earl died March 16, 1954. Marie died August 5, 1986, in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. Following is a transcription of her obituary:

MARIE ROSENSTIEL
Marie G. Rosenstiel, 84, of 2142 Lynn Ave. was dead on arrival Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 5 at Freeport Memorial Hospital.

She was employed as a secretary at the W. T. Rawleigh Co. for 42 years.

A lifelong member of Zion Church, she also was a member of its Ladies Aid Society, Amity Society and Naomi Society.

Marie was a past president of the Wa-Tan-Ye Service Club and a past national-president and member of Freeport Woman’s Club and Freeport Garden Club.

Born on June 25, 1902, in Freeport, she was the daughter of William H. and Gertrude (Janssen) Deemer. She married Earl C. Rosenstiel on Oct. 7, 1926, in Freeport. He died March 20, 1954.

Surviving are three brothers, W. Othniel Deemer of Waukesha, Wis., Ralph Deemer of Elgin and Robert Deemer of Freeport; one sister, Mrs. Jeannette (Elwood) Wunsch of Freeport, and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother in addition to her husband.

Service will beheld at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. William Bankester, pastor of Zion Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
