Result of a Mismanaged Hunt for Thieves.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 25. - John Collins, a market gardener, last night thought he heard thieves in his garden and started to investigate, he was followed by his daughter, Maggie.

Mrs. Collins heard the two and supposed them to be thieves. She aroused her son William, who got his gun and shot both father and daughter. The former is dead and the latter is dying.
