Services For Local Resident at 2 P.M. Friday in Baptist Church
Andrew Neal, aged 55, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 1947, in Reed City Hospital, following a six-week illness with acute leukemia.
Mr. Neal, a local resident since 1917, recently received a safety award from Koppers company signifying his working for 25 years without an accident. He had been an employee of that company for 27 years. He was a member of the Koppers bowling team.
Born the son of George and Elizabeth Neal in Brown County, Indiana, on August 29, 1891, he lived there until a boy of 12 years, when the family moved to Nebraska.
He was married to Ila Holmes in Reed City on November 29, 1922. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are the wife; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Seath of Reed City; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dahlberg of Reed City; two grandsons and two brothers, Elmer of Dunlop, Ia., and Edgar of Indiana.
Prayer services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the late home on North Park Street followed by funeral services at the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Milton R. Gelatt officiating. Interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery.
